Briefly tell us about your role at the CAC.
I am a children’s protective services worker stationed at the Children’s Advocacy Center. I primarily investigate allegations of child sexual abuse within Kent County.
What do you want the community to know about child sexual abuse?
More often than not it is a trusted family member or friend that abuses children. “Stranger danger” is incredibly rare, as children typically know their abuser. It is someone the child knows, loves, and/or trusts.
What is it about your work that keeps you here and motivated?
I want to be able to help children get out of unsafe situations and help families stay together as much as they can.
What do you hope for the CAC in the future?
I hope the CAC continues to grow and be a safe place for all children and families who have experienced child sexual abuse.
